| Abstract | An experimental study was conducted in order to determine the effect of number of plays of the social simulation game "Ghetto" on attitudes toward people in general and ghetto people. It was expected that attitude change would increase with an increase in the number of plays of the game. This effect was not obtained. The game effect was greatest immediately after a thirty-five minute introduction to the game followed by two rounds of the game. The students' attitudes toward ghetto people seemed unusually positive for all treatment groups whether they played the game or not. Nevertheless, because the largest effect was obtained after the shortest experience with the game, it was suggested that teachers might use the game as a brief introduction to social problems in inner-city environments.
